Jack Welch (John Francis Welch, Jr.)

(born 1935) An American business executive, author and chemical engineer. He was chairman and CEO of General Electric between 1981 and 2001. During his tenure, GE increased its market capitalization by over $400 billion. He remains a highly-regarded figure in business circles due to his innovative management strategies and leadership style. In 2006, his net worth was estimated at $720 million.
