Johann Wolfgang von Goethe


(1749 – 1832) A German writer, artist, novelist, dramatist, poet, humanist, scientist, politician, statesman, critic, philosopher, diplomat, considered the greatest German literary figure of the modern era, and for ten years chief minister of state at Weimar. He is best known for his two-part poetic drama "Faust".
