Seneca the Elder (Lucius or Marcus Annaeus Seneca)


(54 BC – 39 AD) Known as Seneca the Elder or Seneca the Rhetorician. A Roman rhetorician and writer. He was the father of the stoic philosopher Seneca the Younger and grandfather of Lucan.

It is the sign of a great spirit to be moderate in prosperity.
