Nelson Mandela (Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela)


(1918 - 2013) South African political activist, politician, and philanthropist, the first South African president to be elected in a fully representative democratic election. He had received more than 250 awards over four decades, including the Nobel Peace Prize. He was one of the world's most visible figures regarding race relations and is a symbol to many people of the struggle for racial equality.
